Baja Blues

Have a wet snow coming down followed by a week of extremely cold weather. Went outside last night to go on a beer run. There’s a ten o’clock curfew still in place, but it is just a suggestion to me. All these rules are just suggestions.

I guess the hot item in the social media world is the Bernie Sanders meme thing. Doesn’t do anything for me. Just an old guy wearing a pair of large mittens.

When I do have to do a midnight beer run I get about as much news as I need by glancing over the newspaper headlines while I’m at the checkout counter. Keep hoping that one day the headline will read: World Has Blown Up! But instead it is all vaccine this, vaccine that, rioters protesting riots, maybe a rape scandal here & there, stuff like that. And that is about all I need to know about what’s going on ‘out there’. Then I hurry back home running stop signs through the ghost town back to my human box.

I don’t have my Subaru, Baja. Last week the unthinkable happened en route to pick up some new eyeglasses, the car just stopped running & wouldn’t start back up. Feel so lost without that car. Has a lot of my weapons inside it. Cousin runs a garage. Gave me a tow & have been hiding out ever since writing & practicing music & stuff.

Finding the car was difficult enough, and I’ve put so much into it up until now (new tires don’t even have 400 miles yet) that I don’t want to let the car go. He’s going to pull the entire engine tomorrow. There goes my stimulator check!

The small documentary film project might be unraveling. Started it about a year & a half ago. My cousin has been in prison for 35 plus years. Gets out at 40 years. When he finally did get out, I was going to film that transitional year. But I haven’t heard from him in a long time, and the Christmas card check still has not been cashed. Very unusual. The last time my Mother spoke to him was several weeks ago & he was worried about The Cooties (Covid).

If anyone out there knows how to go about checking to see if an inmate has deceased let me know. Would not want to waste anymore time or effort on this project if he is dead.
